Hi and welcome to my first blog.
I'm rather new to this whole blogging thing, but I guess I'll start by introducing myself:
My name is Petter Hagstrøm Borge, a 20 year old student from Bergen - Norway.
Ever since I was about 16 years old my dream have been to work with video games as a concept artist.
The reason why I created this blog is to share with you my journey to become a 3D animator and designer as I believe that having experience in these fields play a great part in becoming a concept artist.
I am curently studying 3D design and animation at the Noroff Institute in Bergen. I consider myself very lucky as I don't have to move to another city or country in order to find the right school, because Noroff is simply perfect for me. Great teachers, a VERY good student comunity and plenty of geeky people like myself (hah!) makes this so much more than I expected it to be.
But despite all this I feel that I have trouble keeping up with the rest. I learn rather slowly
when the teacher gives us instructions, so basicly the traditional way of teaching isn't working for me. I don't have any problems with the artistic part as I have been drawing for the past 6 years, but I always get stuck when trying to use the tools that were just explained.
However, I don't have any problems remembering how to use tools when I first have experienced using them, but that ofcourse crashes with the fact that I don't remember how to find or apply them correctly in the first place.
I guess I learn best by experience. The only problem is that in order to teach what needs to be learned through out a day, the teacher needs to keep a steady speed. trying to copy what he does as he go will just make you miss out on important information as your attention gets split in half when you're trying to focus on both his and your own screen.
I will just have to keep trying and see how it goes as I truly believe that I've got what it takes to become a successful animator.
But now I have a task to complete :)
Thank you for reading my first post.
I'm sorry for any typos that lurk around in this wall of text.
